Don't Leaf Me! 🍃
I wanted to recreate the missing green leaf from my Key Lime iBook, so I carefully made a mold from an original leaf and cast new ones in resin.
Matching the color turned out to be much more difficult than I expected. It took several days of mixing and testing pigments before I reached a result I was happy with. While the color isn't a perfect 100% match to the original, I think it comes remarkably close.
I figured there might be a few other people around the world looking for the same solution, so I made about ten extra leaves. Unfortunately, the mold began to lose detail after about twelve castings, so I don't expect to make any more once these are gone.
Although they are small, each one takes a surprising amount of time to produce, so I can't offer them at a very low price. The price simply reflects the time and effort involved in making them.
For installation, I recommend using a thin piece of double-sided tape. If you want a permanent repair, a tiny drop of two-part epoxy adhesive will securely hold it in place.
Since this item is small enough to be mailed as a card, shipping is inexpensive. When purchased by itself, it can be sent via Registered Airmail to most countries for approximately US$7.
Please Note
- Each leaf is cast from a mold taken from a genuine used original part, so slight imperfections or variations are to be expected.
- Every effort has been made to match the original Key Lime color, but the resin color is not an exact match.
Price: US$20 each
